Services

In our experience too many special clinics can result in inconvenience to patients and loss of continuity. We will therefore deal with many matters during normal surgeries. Our Practice Nurses are responsible for much of the management of chronic conditions such as Asthma, Diabetes and Hypertension as well as Family Planning and run some dedicated clinic sessions. We also offer Cryotherapy, Minor Surgery and Coil (IUCD) fitting clinics as well as a complete one-stop clinic for patients on Warfarin anticoagulant medication.

Antenatal Clinics in conjunction with the Midwife

Dr Babatunde and Dr Roberts on Tuesday from 2.15 pm.

Dr Sekharan and Dr Zafar on Wednesday from 2.30pm.

Dr Moore and Dr Whyte on Thursday from 2.30 pm.

Health Visitor Clinics

There is a baby clinic on Monday afternoons, a postnatal support group on Thursday mornings and a family health session is on Wednesday mornings.

Cervical Smears

In Buckinghamshire cervical smears are offered every three years to all women aged between 25 and 49, then every five years from 50 to 65. All patients who have smears in the surgery are notified of the result by letter.

Well-Man & Well-Woman Checks

These are offered to new patients by the nursing team and may also be requested by any adult who has not otherwise attended the surgery within the last three years.

Travel Immunisations

We are able to provide the full range of travel vaccinations and the surgery is a designated Yellow Fever Centre. You do not need to be a registered patient at the Surgery to use this service.

Please complete the Travel Assessment Form in as much detail as you can so that the Practice Nurse can do a comprehensive assessment of your travel health needs and vaccination requirements prior to your appointment. When you have completed the form please hand it in to reception at the Practice or send it by email to mkvp.requests@mkpct.nhs.uk but please ensure that you book a Travel Appointment with the Nurse. Please allow at least 2 working days between providing the completed assessment form to reception and seeing the Nurse for the travel appointment to allow her time to assess your particular needs.

Ideally we need to see you 6 to 8 weeks prior to your planned departure in case a series of vaccinations are required, however travel vaccinations can be administered up to the time of departure and we will try our best to accommodate your needs. Due to a significant demand for nurse appointments we may not always be able to accommodate last minute requests.

During the appointment the Nurse will address travel health, safety awareness as well as administer any necessary vaccinations.

Please note that some vaccinations and anti-malaria tablets are not provided by the NHS and will therefore be subject to fees.

Test & X-ray Results

In general if we have ordered blood tests or X-rays we will ask you to make a further appointment to discuss the results so there is no need to telephone. Occasionally however we may suggest you ring in. In this case please wait at least a week. Then call the surgery after 11am. In the interest of confidentiality you must do this in person; we cannot give results to anyone else.

The receptionist cannot discuss results but will simply pass on a message from the doctor as to whether the test is normal or if he or she needs to discuss it with you.
