The practice now provides extended opening hours on a Monday and Thursday evening until 8 pm and Saturday morning from 9.00am to 10.30am. These are for routine appointments only and are pre-bookable with your own doctor by contacting reception. The doctors work these clinics on a rota basis so please ask when your registered doctor is next available.
Appointments can be booked either in person or by phoning the surgery on 01908 393979.
The Practice provides pre-bookable appointments that are normally available up to six months in advance.
For urgent/on the day problems we will offer you an appointment with your own GP where possible. If they are not available you will be offered an appointment with a locum GP or the Duty Doctor. The Duty Doctor will either see you or give advice by telephone if you prefer. Due to nature of these appointments the Duty Doctor will only be able to deal with the immediate problem and any follow up or referrals will need to be done by your registered GP when you next see them.
The normal place to see the doctor is at the surgery where we have all the equipment and facilities. In addition we can normally see at least three patients in surgery in the time needed for one house call. We will of course visit patients at home where this is medically necessary but in everyone’s interests this service is reserved only for those who are too ill or infirm to be brought to the surgery. If you think you may need a home visit please be sure to call the surgery on 01908 393979 as early as possible in the morning. The doctor will then ring you back to discuss your problem before arranging to visit.
Milton Keynes Primary Care Trust (PCT) has the responsibility for providing a service when the surgery is closed at nights and weekends. The PCT has a contract with MKDOC, who provide doctors and nurses to deal with out of hours emergencies.
Always ring the surgery number 01908 393979 in the first instance to obtain the current out of hours contact details. Please remember this service is for emergencies only.
All calls to MKDOC and NHS Direct will be recorded.
NHS Direct can be contacted for advice at any time on 0845 4647 or online at nhsdirect Accident and Emergency whatever the day or time, if you or someone else experiences severe chest pain, an injury requiring stitches or suspected broken bones, go to the accident and emergency department at Milton Keynes General Hospital or call 999.
